Who are we

ESH Training and Development Services is a close corporation, established in August 2009.

In September 2016 the company expanded to include another four managing members – Mr H.E.S Moorcroft (Occupational Hygiene Environmental & Safety Specialist), H L Moorcroft (Safety & Systems Specialist), S van Rensburg (Training and Education Specialist) and S C Bosman (Legal). In December 2016 ESH Training and Development Services obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification through DQS.

S Van Rensburg left as a member in August 2022 but is an independent contractor for the company.

We specialise in the development and presentation of courses in the Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Engineering field, AET, Safety Representatives and Skills programs to members of the Environmental Engineering and Occupational Hygiene Discipline, and Production Staff in the mining and related industries. All our learning material is approved by the Mines Qualifications Authority or/and the Mine Ventilation Society of SA.

We have more than 225 Years of experience in the Environmental Engineering and Occupational Hygiene, Safety and Training Disciplines.

We also specialize in the consultation regarding Mine Environmental Control, Safety Programs, Systems as well as AET, Training and Legal compliance. All our relevant learning material is approved by the QCTO (Quality Council of Trade Organisation), MQA (Mines Qualifications Authority) and / or the MVSSA (Mine Ventilation Society of SA).

ESH Training and Development Services will in so far as it is reasonably practical, endeavour to:

Train and develop students according to training programs, skills programs and educational programmes using the best training and assessment methodologies available.
Assess learners with fairness and to ensure competence to the best of their abilities.
ESH will ensure that all legal and customer/clients’ requirement are met or exceeded.
We will assist, advice and assess any person who applies to be assessed on prior learning to obtain a recognized qualification to further their careers and improve their quality of life.

We will strive to incorporate the latest technology available in order to continuously improve our service.

OUR SCOPE

Our QMS utilize the process approach and quality management principles contained in the international standards: ISO 9001:2015 to enhance our ability to continually improve.
ESH Training is focused on the Occupational Health and Safety field and specifically in the Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Engineering discipline as required by the Mines Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
Additional capabilities have been added to the organization to include the training of Health and Safety Representatives in the mining industry and presentation of refresher courses, related to Health and Safety risk assessment, to production personnel.
The company is also engaged in Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Engineering qualifications according to SAQA processes through the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA), from NQF Level 2 – 5 and writing of learner packs for registered unit standards.
The custodianship of the above qualifications currently lies within the Minerals Council South Africa (MCSA). All the administration duties are performed by the MCSA and include student registration.
The Mine Ventilation Society of SA (MVSSA) is responsible for the updating and providing of the syllabus, learning material and relevant study material for the current qualifications.
ESH Training & Development Services utilize the training material provided from MVSSA and Mines Qualification Authority (MQA)
ESH Training and Development Services will train towards South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) registered unit standards and assess against the outcomes of such unit standards. All unit standards outcomes will be in line with the MQA standards who will also be responsible for the certification of such.
ESH Training and development Services operates in a competitive environment and will focus on exceptional training delivery and quality of training to gain competitive edge in the market.
ESH Training and Development Services will form professional partnerships with quality bodies (DQS, QCTO, COM, MVSSA, MQA and other SETA’s) to achieve quality training delivery and to avoid the risk of losing the competitiveness in the market.
ESH Training and Development Services operate in a diverse cultural and socio- economic environment and are committed to sound values and principles.
We specialise in the development and presentation of courses in the Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Engineering field.
The company also provides for courses in the Health and Safety field where training for Health and Safety Representatives are presented. Risk assessment courses are provided for industry where required. We assist with the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and OSHAS 18001:2015.
We specialise in the implementation, coordination and facilitation of AET.
We offer all mining Skills programs to Production Staff in the mining and related industries, this includes competent person A, competent person B, RDO and Blasting Assistants. We present the Mine Overseer Certificate, Shift overseer course as well as Middle Management Course and can assist in the preparation the Blasting Certificate.
We can also assist with
Psychometric testing including Dover Tests.
We also specialize in the consultation regarding Mine Environmental Control, Safety Programs and Systems as well as AET and Training.
