6. Separate qualifications are not necessary for the specialisations in Surface Excavations, Hardrock, and Coal. The Work Experience Component is the point of differentiation. The completed work experience will be used to endorse the qualification as Underground Hardrock, Underground Coal, or Surface Excavations. In order to transition to a new mining context, the learner must first complete the pertinent work experience in that context and subsequently appeal to the External Assessment Quality Partner to have the qualification endorsed correspondingly.
